Rules and Regulations

Rules and Regulations

West Lawn has attempted to establish and enforce a fair set of rules for all.
Fresh and artificial bouquets in approved vases are permitted from April 15th to October 15th. Glass jars and other breakable containers do not constitute a proper container. This type is easily broken and may cause injuries to both employees and visitors. One arrangement per grave.

Fresh flowers are removed and the vases inverted when they become withered. The cemetery reserves the right to remove any flowers, potted plants, summer wreaths, baskets of flowers or shepherd's hooks when it is in the best interests of the park. The grass will be mowed during the growing season. Upon request markers will be trimmed. Solar lights are prohibited.

From November 15th to February 15th, Christmas wreaths are allowed. (These will be
removed during our spring clean-up April 15th) During this time, all permanent vases should be inverted to prevent possible damage by heavy equipment.

Digging and planting is restricted only to cemetery personnel or approved contractors. Potted flowers, plants, summer wreaths or baskets are not permitted except on Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day and Christmas Day. They will be removed ten(10) days after the holiday.

Flag holders furnished by Military or Fraternal Orders may be placed on graves for Memorial Day and remain until after Veteran's Day. All flag holders not removed by November 12th will be removed by the superintendent and stored in his office.

Please keep your pet(s) in the car while visiting the cemetery. The grounds here at West Lawn are considered sacred and many of those with loved ones buried here would not appreciate pets running loose in the cemetery.

Trash containers are placed throughout the cemetery for your convenience, however, on holidays it is difficult for us to keep them from overflowing. If you are visiting the cemetery, please help us keep the grounds clean by taking with you all paper, boxes, etc. which you bring.

While visiting your cemetery, please drive slowly and with caution. Cars driving or parking on the grass can create ruts and may pass over graves located near the road edge. So to help maintain the beauty of your cemetery, please do not park or drive on the grass.

West Lawn is not responsible for any item placed at a gravesite.
